Phenomenology
Phenomenology is seeing experience as it is, without hiding it behind theories. This approach, founded by Edmund Husserl, proposes a 'return to the things themselves'. The coach takes the client's experience as it is recounted, without forcing it into their own categories. The question 'what is this like for you?' is phenomenological. Interpretation comes later; experience comes first.
