Humanistic psychology
Humanistic psychology is the current that treats the human being not through their deficits but through their potential. Under the leadership of Abraham Maslow and Carl Rogers, it was called the 'third force' after behaviorism and psychoanalysis. It assumes that the human being tends by nature toward growth. Coaching's view of the human being rests largely on this ground. The focus is not illness but growth.
