The Life Wheel (Wheel of Life) is a self-assessment tool widely used in coaching. The person chooses areas such as career, relationships, health and meaning, and scores each from 1 to 10. In Cevvela’s Life Wheel each slice gets two scores: where you are today and what would be enough. The wheel overlays these two lines, and the widest gap, the hungriest slice, points to the subject to address. The goal is not to raise the score but to make the gap visible and guide the person to the right support.
What is the Life Wheel?
The Life Wheel is a tool that lets you split your life into separate areas and weigh each one on its own. In its classic version the slices are fixed: career, health, relationships, money and meaning. In Cevvela’s Life Wheel you choose the slices yourself; you pick the eight concepts that matter to you from a pool and place them on the wheel.
This is not a test. There are no right or wrong answers, and no score labels you. The wheel only makes visible what you already see, and leaves the rest to you.
How it works
First you pick eight concepts from the pool. Then you give each slice two scores: where you are today and what would be enough for you. Your aim does not have to be ten; "enough" is whatever it means to you. The wheel draws these two values as two overlaid lines.
The widest opening between the two lines is the hungriest slice. The mirror section highlights this slice and gives you a balance score: the rounder the wheel, the less life lurches. It is the wide gap, not the low score, that names your subject.
Who it is for
The Life Wheel helps anyone who senses something is off but cannot quite name what to change. It is a simple starting point for busy professionals, for people standing at a turning point, and for anyone who wants to check in with themselves regularly.
We suggest drawing your wheel again every six months. Your previous line stays faint beneath the new one, and the change between them shows itself without needing words.
The Cevvela difference
Most life wheels end with a score chart. At Cevvela the wheel is a beginning. After you see your hungriest slice, a few short questions clarify your threshold and point you to the support that fits your subject: coaching opens with a question, mentoring shows through experience, somatic therapy works through the body.
The scores you give stay on your device only. They reach us only if you send the Threshold Book form, and then someone at the right threshold gets in touch. If you wish, you can also discover your dominant way of working first with the Career Compass.
Frequently asked questions about the Life Wheel
- Is the Life Wheel a personality test?
- No. The Life Wheel does not place you into a type. It is a self-assessment that compares where you are today with what you consider enough, across areas you choose yourself. If you are curious about your personality leaning, the Career Compass is a better fit.
- How long does it take?
- A few minutes. You only pick eight concepts and give each two scores. There is no rush; you can return to any slice and change its score.
- Are my scores stored?
- Your scores stay in your own browser. They are kept on your device in case you want to return after six months, and are not sent to us. Only if you fill in the Threshold Book form does your request reach us.
- Should I focus on my lowest-scoring area?
- Not necessarily. The Life Wheel highlights the widest gap, not the lowest score. If you scored an area six and called it enough, there is no subject there; where you scored three and want nine, there is. What matters is the opening between today and your wish.
- What happens afterwards?
- After the mirror, a few short questions lead you to a threshold: coaching, mentoring or somatic therapy. If you wish, you write your one-sentence first step and reach us through the Threshold Book, and the right person gets in touch.
