The secret (sirr)

In Sufism, the sirr is the most intimate layer, deeper within the heart. It is spoken of as the place where divine love and contemplation open. It is a depth that cannot be put into words but only lived. The concept says that at the innermost, a person has a room that does not fully open even to themselves.
