Feedback culture

Feedback culture is when, in a team or an organization, honest feedback is not a feared event but an ordinary flow. In such a culture, feedback is not squeezed into a formal review made once a year; it lives as a small, frequent, and two-way exchange. Its precondition is trust; people speak honestly and listen to criticism without becoming defensive only when they know they will not be punished. Where feedback is avoided, problems stay invisible until they grow large. Coaching helps a leader feed this culture by modeling both giving and receiving feedback.
