Taking initiative

Taking initiative is the mentee owning the process and moving into action themselves. A good mentee does not wait for the mentor to start everything; they arrange the meetings, bring their agenda, and take their steps themselves. This shapes the mentoring according to the mentee's need. A mentee who does not take initiative leaves the whole weight of the relationship to the mentor. A mentee who owns the process gets far more out of it.
