Openness to feedback

Openness to feedback is the mentee's ability to receive criticism without becoming defensive. Development often happens when light is cast on a point a person cannot see; and this can be uncomfortable. An open mentee takes feedback not as an attack but as a gift. Without this openness, even the mentor's most valuable observations go to waste. The person who can listen to criticism is the one who learns fastest.
