Stages of changetransteoretik
The stages of change is a model that says a person changes a habit not all at once but by passing through successive phases. The transtheoretical model, developed by James Prochaska and Carlo DiClemente, consists of five main phases: precontemplation, contemplation, preparation, action, and maintenance. The value of the model is that it shows support must differ according to which phase a person is in. Imposing an action plan on someone still in the contemplation phase often produces resistance. The coach first understands where the client stands, then speaks accordingly.
