The action stage
The action stage is the phase in which a person visibly puts the new behavior into practice. This is the most noticeable stage, but also the one that demands the most energy. Because the new behavior has not yet become automatic, it requires will each time, and fatigue lays the ground for slipping back. In this stage the coach makes progress visible and normalizes setbacks as an expected part. Action that is sustained requires less effort over time.
