The comeback plan
The comeback plan is a person deciding in advance what they will do when they stray from their path. No change advances in a straight line; a setback is the rule, not the exception. The real matter is not avoiding straying but how quickly one returns after straying. The coach helps the client see a setback not as a failure but as an expected moment. The sentence 'if you miss a day, you pick up the next day where you left off' prevents the total giving-up that perfectionism causes.
