Repetition (reprise)
Kierkegaard defines repetition as a recollection directed forward rather than backward. It is not bringing the past back as it was but living the same theme again on a new level. A person may keep encountering the same kind of relationship or conflict in different forms. The concept makes us wonder why life brings the same matter back in cycles.
