Care (Sorge)Sorge
For Heidegger, the fundamental mode of the human being is care; our own existence is a matter of concern to us. Stones exist but do not mind their own being; a human being, by contrast, takes to heart how they live. This concern is the source of both anxiety and caring involvement. Care says that the human being is one who cannot remain indifferent.
