Nonviolent communicationNVC

Nonviolent communication is a method for taking up conflict without blame and without pushing the other person into defense. This approach, developed by psychologist Marshall Rosenberg, rests on four steps: a non-judgmental observation, the feeling that observation arouses, the need behind that feeling, and finally a concrete request. The method turns an accusing language such as "you always do this" into an owning language such as "when I see this I feel this way, because I need that." This distinction changes the tone of most conflicts at the root. The coach helps the client build a difficult conversation in this language, so that they reach an expression that is both honest and does not sever the bond.
