Active constructive responding
Active constructive responding is, when a person shares good news, responding to them with interest and enthusiasm. Psychologist Shelly Gable's research showed that the response given to good news is at least as decisive for relationships as support given on bad days. Truly sharing someone's joy strengthens the bond noticeably, compared with belittling or brushing it off. Most people think support is needed only in hard moments, yet joy too wants to be shared. The coach helps the client notice how they respond to others' positive moments in their close relationships.
