VIA strengths
VIA strengths are an inventory that measures a person's character virtues. Martin Seligman and Christopher Peterson, among the pioneers of positive psychology, defined twenty-four character strengths common across cultures, for instance curiosity, courage, kindness, and fairness. This inventory focuses not on what a person needs to fix but on the strengths they already carry. Research shows that using one's strongest sides in new ways feeds well-being. The coach helps the client recognize these strengths and use them more consciously.
