MBTI
The MBTI is a widely used indicator that describes personality tendencies along four binary dimensions. Developed by Katharine Cook Briggs and Isabel Briggs Myers from Carl Jung's theory of typology, this tool places a person along preference axes such as introversion and extraversion. Its scientific validity has been debated in academic circles, so it is more appropriate to use it not as a definitive diagnosis but as a self-awareness tool. Its value lies in enabling a person to speak, in a shared language, of their own tendencies and their differences from others. The coach uses it not to place the client in a box but to help them explore their own tendencies with curiosity.
