Systemic coaching

Systemic coaching takes up a person not alone but within the web of relationships they stand in. This approach, drawing on family systems theory, holds that a person's behavior is often a part of the system they are bound to. A manager's blockage may be not an individual flaw but a pattern of the team or the institution. The coach therefore asks, instead of "who has the problem?", "in which system does this pattern live?" Changing the individual often runs through seeing the context.
