Cognitive behavioral coaching
Cognitive behavioral coaching studies how thoughts shape emotions and behaviors. It is adapted from Aaron Beck's cognitive therapy; in the coaching field, Michael Neenan and Windy Dryden developed this framework. It is not a clinical treatment but a testable method that works on everyday blockages. It helps the client notice a thought pattern that is not serving them and put a more realistic one in its place. The question 'Is this thought true, or just familiar?' is the essence of this approach.
