Reading the context

Reading the context is the mentor's skill of understanding the mentee's situation accurately and on the ground. The same advice does not work in every context; without reading the conditions and constraints the mentee is in, the counsel a mentor gives can hang in the air. This skill lets the mentor adapt their own experience to the mentee's reality. The mentor puts at the center not the solution but the mentee's situation. A well-read context is the precondition of the right support.
