Mentor-mentee fit

Mentor-mentee fit is the overlap of character and goals between the two sides. Not every mentor suits every mentee; fit requires both personalities and expectations to meet. A good fit places the relationship on a solid ground from the start; a mismatch makes it hard to reach depth even with the most experienced mentor. This fit is not only similarity; sometimes difference too creates an instructive tension. What matters is that the two sides find a common ground on which they can understand each other.
