Bodily existence (Leiblichkeit)Leiblichkeit
Heidegger stresses that a human being does not have a body but exists as a body, and he calls this Leiblichkeit. The body is not an instrument we carry but our way of being present in the world. Our being 'there' somewhere always takes place through our body. The concept overturns the division that places the mind above the body.
