Anxious attachment
Anxious attachment is a pattern marked by a constant seeking of reassurance and a fear of abandonment. In this pattern a person struggles to feel safe in relationships and may feel a constant need for confirmation in order to be sure of the other's closeness. This often bears the trace of having met with an inconsistent response in early relationships. A person with anxious attachment longs for closeness but cannot easily be sure of it. Becoming aware of this pattern can be the first step toward building a more secure ground in relationships.
