Setting the agenda
Setting the agenda is the client clarifying, at the start of each session, what they want to talk about in that meeting. This is a concrete application of client-centeredness; the topic is brought by the client, not the coach. When the agenda is set, the limited session time is directed to the topic that matters most, and the meeting is kept from scattering. The coach often asks 'what do you want to focus on today?' and 'what would you like to have gained by the end of this meeting?'. A clear agenda increases both the focus and the likelihood of reaching an outcome.
