The self-transforming mind
The self-transforming mind is the level at which a person can see and question even their own value system from the outside. In Kegan's model it is the most advanced and most rarely seen stage. A person at this level accepts that their own view may be limited and incomplete, and can hold several systems at once; they are open to complexity more than to certainty. Rather than clinging to their own position, they can continually re-examine it. In coaching, working with a client at this level often takes the most open form of thinking together.
