Self-transcendenceself-transcendence

For Frankl, a person finds meaning not within themselves but in something beyond themselves; he calls this self-transcendence. Turning toward a task, a person, or a value carries one past their own limit. Constantly looking at oneself, paradoxically, pushes meaning further away. Meaning appears when attention turns outward.
