Psychometric tools
Psychometric tools are tests that assess personality, tendencies, and attitudes through standardized scales. Tools such as the MBTI, DISC, or the Big Five fall into this category; each makes certain sides of a person speakable in a language. The scientific validity of these tools varies from one to another, so it is more appropriate to use them not as a definitive diagnosis but as a starting point for self-awareness. Their value is that they help the client recognize their own tendencies and their differences from others. The coach uses these tools not to place the client in a box but so that they may explore themselves with curiosity.
