Procedural memory
Procedural memory is the memory of bodily skills and habits. Skills such as riding a bicycle, swimming, or playing an instrument, once learned, are held in the body through this memory and carried out without thinking. Procedural memory is a form of implicit memory; it is remembered not in words but in doing. This memory is a concrete example of how the body holds knowledge. A skill once learned often stays in the body for a long time.
