Explicit memoryexplicit
Explicit memory is the type of memory that can be consciously recalled and recounted. Deliberately calling back an event, a date, or a piece of information is the work of this memory. Unlike the wordless automaticity of implicit memory, explicit memory can be expressed in words and placed in time. These two kinds of memory work together; one carries the story, the other the reaction. Explicit memory forms the tellable face of experience.
