Presence is the coach being here, in this moment, alongside the client, without dividing their attention. Not the next question or their own interpretation, but the person across from them comes to the center. The International Coaching Federation (ICF) counts it among the core competencies. Presence is not built with words; it is felt in silence, in waiting, and in the quality of listening. The client usually senses in the very first minute that they are truly seen.
