Emotional resilience
Emotional resilience is a person's capacity to recover after difficulty, loss, or failure. Its English equivalent is resilience. This is not not suffering or being unaffected by hardship, but being able to rise again after being shaken; not unbreakability but flexibility. Research shows that resilience is not a fixed trait but a capacity that can be developed; meaningful relationships, a realistic outlook, and self-compassion nourish it. The coach helps the client see a setback not as an ending but as a moment that can be passed through, and to notice their resources for recovery.
