Diaphragmatic breathing
Diaphragmatic breathing is taking the breath not from the chest but from the belly and from deep down. In this breath, where the diaphragm muscle works fully, the belly widens and the breath descends deeper; unlike shallow chest breathing, this breath tends to calm the body. Diaphragmatic breathing can call up calm by supporting the parasympathetic system. This natural way of breathing often becomes shallow with tension. A deep breath from the belly can carry calm to the body.
