4MAT

4MAT is a cycle model that says learning proceeds through four different questions. The framework, developed by Bernice McCarthy, rests on the questions 'why?', 'what?', 'how?', and 'what if?'. It assumes that people learn from different starting points; some begin with meaning, some with information, some with trying. A coach or trainer can reach everyone by passing their explanation through these four doors. The same content touches different people when the order of questions changes.
