Acknowledgmentacknowledging
Acknowledgment is seeing and putting into words not what the client does but who they are. In the Co-Active tradition this is kept separate from praise: praise commends the behavior, while acknowledgment recognizes the quality the person has shown. The sentence "you showed great courage in doing this" reaches deeper than "you accomplished this." Heartfelt acknowledgment lets the client remember their own strength. A quality that is seen brings the person to trust it more.
