Mentoring and therapy
The difference between mentoring and therapy is the distinction between development and healing. Therapy often addresses a psychological difficulty, a past wound, or a health matter, and this is the field of a trained mental health professional. Mentoring is not a clinical process; it focuses not on healing the past but on the development and the future ahead of the mentee. When a mentee's need points to clinical support, a responsible mentor refers them to a suitable professional. Mentoring is not a treatment but a companionship in development.
