Declaration

Among speech acts, a declaration does not describe what already exists but opens a new reality. To say 'this is finished' or 'from today on I will choose differently' is to build the world with words. In the work of John Searle and Fernando Flores, declaration counts among the basic acts that create possibility. A decision often begins with a declaration.
