With a naïve, humanist approach, Jung argues that we must embrace our own darkness — our Shadow — while showing how the individual who yields to mass hysteria is erased. The unique gem within a person lies hidden not only in the bright masks society imposes but in their deepest fears. Everyone who lacks the courage to know themselves is a potential slave of mass dictatorships. If you are afraid to look within, you will always live other people’s dreams.
