Freud is the man who blew up reason’s gleaming, arrogant castle. He destroys the lie of “I am in control of myself.” Behind the decisions you consider so rational lie repressed sexuality, childhood traumas and primitive drives. When Cevvela says “look at your own inner gem,” it knows that this gem is not always shining; more often it waits inside the dark storehouse, soiled and afraid. You realize how much your own lofty ideals are in fact primitive desires in disguise. You cannot become a good person by denying the wild animal within you instead of facing it. You only become a hypocritical neurotic.
