Reich grabs the reader by the collar and spits in their face. This book is not an essay; it is an indictment. How do you market your own mediocrity, envy and worship of power as “morality”? He proves that the tyrants who rule us are in fact reflections of the crushed “little man” within us who runs from responsibility. It is a slap in the face of everyone who sacrifices their potential to stay in the comfort zone and then spews hatred at those who succeed. Cevvela shows no mercy to those who dull the gem within them, and neither does Reich. Reading this text is physically painful. Those who do not take responsibility for their own lives are condemned to become guards in hells built by others.
