Books aren’t being banned; people are choosing to stop reading them of their own free will. That’s where the real horror lies. Montag’s awakening is the spark within him catching fire when it finds oxygen. If you’re constantly numbed by entertainment, short videos, and instant gratification, you’ve already set your own mind ablaze.
